| Description: |
- Tall canopy tree, stout, straight trunk up to 1.5m diameter
- The opposite leaves have a dark green upper surface, pale lower
surface and wavy margins, the juvenile leaves are larger (15-25cm
x 8-16cm) than the adult leaves (7.5-15cm x 1.5-4.5cm): mibrib
and other veins visible on lower surface; midrib in groove on
upper surface (see White maire)
- The flowerheads about 1-2.5cm long consist of 8-12 tiny greenish
flowers, the flower stalks are hairy
- Many fruit (up to 15mm long) like olives, growing along the
branchlets, giving the tree a bright red or yellow glow
- Rough corky bark, branchlets hairy (pubescent)
