Where found:

  • Subalpine scrub and shrubland on Mt Taranaki/Egmont
  • From 1100 to 1400 metres above sea level
Description:
  • Spreading shrub with stout branches
  • Small leathery leaves (15-20 mm x 2-6 mm)
  • Dense foliage can be dark green with long narrow leaves or yellow green with short broad leaves
  • Solitary light yellow flowers
  • Fruit are produced from February to May, long bright orange-red drupes 5-6 mm
