"Any garden can be made attractive to wildlife, even if only a few square metres in size. Planting shelter trees and hedges provides suitable places for nesting, as well as harbouring insects, while trees and shrubs producing edible seeds, berries, leaves, flowers or nectar will sustain a variety of birds."

The New Zealand Plant Names Database provides the names of plant taxa that are wild in New Zealand. These names are currently accepted for use at the Herbarium (CHR). The database includes names for seed plants, mosses, liverworts and lichens and provides information on the biostatus and the authorship of the taxa.
