Where found:
|
- Only known from the Ahukawakawa Swamp margins and Pouakai Range,
Egmont National Park.
- Unique, rare and threatened.

| Description: |
- Divaricating (much branched) shrub which forms a compact crown
of rigid stems with spiny tips.
- Very small leaves have different juvenile and adult forms. Adult
leaves 7-12 x 2mm dark green above, paler beneath.
- Small cream - yellow flowers in October - December.
- Fruit a small (4-5mm) round berry, white with scattered purple
to black spots (March - May).
- Very palatable to hares, goats, possums
