Where found:

• Montane forest scrub and lower subalpine scrub on Mt Taranaki/Egmont
  
• Up to 1200 metres
  

• Shrub or small canopy tree with spreading branches
  
• Leaves have 3-7 leaflets (leaflets are 50-200 mm x 20-110 mm) on a stalk 50-200 mm long and have serrated margins
  
• Green, heavy scented flowers
  
• Small (4-6 mm) black compressed fruit, large sprays of fruit occur below the leaves
• Preferred food of possums
