Family: Scrophulariaceae (Figwort family) Maximum height: 1.5 metres

 

Where found:

  • Mountain scrub and shrub tussock land
  • From 500 to 1500 metres above sea level
Description:
  • Upright bushy shrub, rounded with many branchlets
  • Leaves are bright green and shiny with pointed tips, the underside is dull with many stomata and minute hairs near the base (10-20 mm x 3-6 mm)
  • Mauve flowers on branched, lateral flowerheads (30-40 mm long) with many flowers on them
