Where found:

  • Subalpine tussockland, stream beds and debris slopes on Mt Taranaki/Egmont
  • Early coloniser on slips
Description:
  • A creeping shrub with slender branches and branchlets
  • Narrow pointed leaves (5-10mm x 1.5-3mm)
  • Flower stalks 3-6cm long with flowers singly, or in groups of 2-3
  • The black berry is poisonous
  • Similar to C. pteridoides but smaller
