- Up to 450 metres
- Leached soils, well-drained (often with
beeches)

| Description: |
- A semi-parasitic small tree with slender branches and a trunk
up to 20cm in diameter
- Long narrow leaf blades (5-10cm x 3-10mm), dark green glossy
leaves with smooth margins, the leaves can be alternate or sub
opposite pairs
- Greenish flowers, 4-6mm
- Bright red fruit, 12mm long
- Rough grey bark
