Family: Rubiaceae (Madder family) Maximum height: 2 metres

 

Where found:

  • Coastal sands, sand dunes
Description:
  • Low growing cushion like mass of interlacing branches up to 2 m diameter
  • Narrow yellowish green blunt ended leaves (7-12 mm x 1-2 mm)
  • Tiny insignificant flowers, flowering from November to December
  • Pale blue berries, 7 mm long
  • Branchlets and stalks have yellowish-brown bark
