| Description: |
- A tree with stout spreading branches and a column like trunk
up to 1 m diameter, the main lateral roots form small buttresses
- Large (50-200 mm x 20-80 mm) glossy leaves are slightly leathery,
oblong with wavy margins
- Stunning greenish white waxy flowers (up to 30 mm) with quite
thick petals occur on drooping panicles up to 30cm long sprouting
from the trunk and branches, flowering in early winter; male and
female on separate trees (dioecious)
- The green seed capsules (about 25 mm diameter) split to show
the scarlet seeds inside
- Pale smooth bark often covered with lichens
- Tough red wood
- Preferred food of possums
