Where found:

  • Coastal and inland sand dunes, sands and gravel
  • Up to 600 metres
Description:
  • Grass with long, tough rhizomes up to 1.5mm diameter
  • Leaves are smooth, grey/whitish 50-100 mm x 5-30 mm, folded with prickly tips
  • Smooth leaf sheath is shiny white below, purplish above with membranous margins
